ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Lynnette Shelley

Lynnette Shelley is an award-winning Pennsylvania artist specializing in contemporary mixed media animal paintings. Having a great love of wildlife, patterns and archetypes, Shelley fuses these influences into her strikingly unique artworks. Her paintings strike a primal chord in many viewers, with almost Jungian associations to the colors and shapes. Her highly detailed and complex compositions are created using a sophisticated process developed from a buildup of multiple layers incorporating techniques in both drawing and painting — from crosshatching to underpainting to freehand drawing.

Shelley’s animal and nature themed artworks have been displayed nationally as well as regionally at museums, art galleries and other venues. She is represented by Ivystone Studio in Downingtown, PA, Borrelli’s Chestnut Hill Gallery in Philadelphia, PA, and Deja 42 Gallery in Philadelphia.

Originally from Delaware, Shelley lives in Ambler, Pennsylvania, and maintains a private studio in Norristown.

Amy Bruckner

Amy Bruckner is the creative engine driving Piece of Mind Mosaics. A native of the Philadelphia suburbs, she began her career as a mosaic artist 16 years ago studying under Gina Hubler of Design Impact Studios of Miami. Amy continued honing her skills with award-winning mosaic mural artist Isaiah Zagar, best known for his brilliantly eclectic Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, a modern art installation in Philadelphia’s vibrant South Street neighborhood. Other mosaic artists she has studied with are Cynthia Fisher, Laura Rendlen, Linda Biggers, Yulia Hanansen, Guilio Menossi and Rachel Sager.

Amy has always been involved with one art form or another, from pottery to watercolor painting. Creating beautiful, original mosaics is what Amy loves to do, and she takes a special interest in integrating the personal imagery of her clients into her works. She works with mostly with glass but also incorporates ceramic elements, stone, and even encaustic and alcohol ink painting!

Amy works out of her home studio near Downingtown, PA and has taught mosaic classes at her home studio, Phoenix Village Art Center in Phoenixville, PA, Methacton School District in Eagleville, PA, Pottstown Gallery School, in Pottstown, PA, Chester County Night School and Art Partners in Coatesville, PA. She has been an artist in residence at Lorane Elementary School near Reading, PA. A mosaic violin she created for the Painted Violin Project fundraiser for the Community Music School in Trappe, PA was on display at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, PA. One of her mosaics hung in the place of honor next to a piece by Isaiah Zagar at City Hall in Philadelphia for the Society of American Artists Mosaic exhibit in 2015. Her work has been shown in juried art shows – Downingtown Fine Arts Festival 2016, Art in Autumn in Weaverville, NC 2015 and 2016 and Chester County Studio Tour 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. She has also shown her work at Mala Galleria (now Square Pear) in Kennett Square, PA, the Pallette and The Page in Elkton, MD, and the Darlington Arts Center in Garnet Valley, PA. Currently her work is displayed at Visual Expansion Gallery in West Chester, PA.
