Join a contingent of Philly Union members at the Justice for George Floyd! Physically Distanced Speakout. www.facebook.com/events/283802805989245/

**Meet on lawn at NE corner of 8th and Race @ 2:45 PM** Wear your union gear!

“An injury to one is an injury to all”. We are union members who support calls for #JusticeforGeorgeFloyd. We are willing to talk to our co-workers about why the labor movement needs to take a stand against racist police violence of our brothers, sisters, and siblings. Join us for a solidarity contingent starting at 2:45pm, and we’ll join up with the main protest at 3:00pm.

Organized labor and unions have a critical role in this struggle, and it’s critical that we tie our position as workers to these protests. United, we can use our power as workers to grind the status quo to a halt in this fight for justice. We unite with nurses and transit workers building a movement to challenge systems of racial oppression. We stand in solidarity with unionized bus drivers of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1005 refusing to allow local police to use buses for mass arrests of protesters.

On top of police brutality, the coronavirus pandemic and record unemployment rates are killing and affecting Black people at a higher rate than any other racial group. Police are given more funding while city workers are laid off and services are gutted. Corporations like Comcast get billions in tax breaks while working class students are expected to complete “distance learning” without access to the internet.

We support the Black and working people of Minneapolis refusing to “just go home” and let the police, District Attorneys and elected officials get back to business as usual. Instead, we call for mass action and a sustained, worker-led movement to bring justice for George Floyd and millions of workers.
