Con­fronting White Suprema­cy and Class in Ital­ian Amer­i­can Com­mu­ni­ties: South Philly Then and Now

This will be a vir­tu­al teach-in to con­front the his­to­ry of Ital­ian Amer­i­can com­mu­ni­ties like South Philadel­phia and the com­plex his­to­ry of white suprema­cy, livestreamed on Face­book (facebook.com/mxthemme). We invite the com­mu­ni­ty to this impor­tant dis­cus­sion in light of the inci­dents of white suprema­cist vig­i­lante vio­lence unfold­ing at Mar­coni Plaza since June 13th. 

The con­ver­sa­tion will be mod­er­at­ed by jour­nal­ist Adryan Cor­cione, joined with Ital­ian stud­ies expert Saman­tha Pinto.

While the talk will be avail­able free of cost as it’s livestreamed pub­licly on Adryan Cor­cione’s Face­book page, we high­ly encour­age par­tic­i­pants to donate to local Black and Indige­nous orga­ni­za­tions who lead the move­ment for lib­er­a­tion in Philadel­phia, includ­ing Philly for REAL Jus­tice and Indige­nous 215.
