Wel­come to Raise Your Voice: Poems & Sto­ries of Protest. In this space we will put to the page our expe­ri­ences of what is occur­ring in our coun­try and our cities.

You do not have to be a writer to join this group. But, we will ask you to write with us. Let’s all come togeth­er to process our expe­ri­ences and get clear on what we are seek­ing to transform.

This group is open to all.

This group was specif­i­cal­ly cre­at­ed in response to the protests in Asbury Park. Please, spread the word, and let the com­mu­ni­ty of Asbury Park know that we want to hear their sto­ries. Invite Asbury Park to write in this space. 

We are seek­ing to col­lect the accounts of those who live in Asbury Park for a larg­er project under devel­op­ment. We will accept sto­ries and poems from oth­ers, too.

You are not required to share the writ­ing done in this group. How­ev­er, if you feel moved to do so, please, know that we are col­lect­ing the writing.

This project is being brought to you by mul­ti­ple mem­bers of the poet­ry com­mu­ni­ty of Asbury Park. We are here togeth­er to stand as one to raise our voic­es, to speak our truths, and to trans­form the injus­tices before us.
