Kindra

Every Tuesday, as part of Kindra’s Daily Dating & Relating Zoom Series, we will be offering sessions that use Nonviolent Communication practices to improve your communications, increase empathy and better your relationships.

This week Jeff Lassanske and Emilia Colman will lead us in playing Grok, a relationship game based on Nonviolent Communication principles. Playing Grok helps us understand each other better and deepen our connections with each other. It’s lots of fun and will make you smile.

Emilia invites you to come play Grok because “I learn so much about myself and the ways that people are different from me. I come away feeling happy and so connected with the people I’m playing with.” Jeff loves playing Grok because “I always feel so much calmer, centered and grounded after playing Grok.”

What is Grok? From www.groktheworld.com/products: “GROK is a set of 20 relationship games and exercises designed to help us listen deeply to each other’s values, needs, wishes, hopes and dreams; and to listen to oneself for clarity and self-connection. These games are fun, engaging, and educational; with no ‘winners and losers’. GROK offers a different model, a game where everybody not only wins, but also experiences deeper connection with themselves and others.”

What is Nonviolent Communication (NVC)?
From www.cnvc.org/learn-nvc/what-is-nvc

“With Nonviolent Communication (NVC) we learn to hear our own deeper needs and those of others. Through its emphasis on deep listening—to ourselves as well as others—NVC helps us discover the depth of our own compassion. This language reveals the awareness that all human beings are only trying to honor universal values and needs, every minute, every day.

NVC can be seen as both a spiritual practice that helps us see our common humanity, using our power in a way that honors everyone’s needs, and a concrete set of skills which help us create life-serving families and communities.

The form is simple, yet powerfully transformative.”

Please note: These sessions may be recorded and made available to people who aren’t able to attend. However, breakout rooms within the sessions are not recorded.

Donation-based tickets (starting at $1). We very much appreciate your donation which goes to pay our facilitators and support our virtual offerings.

Kindra is creating an on-line/off-line community that values authentic connections. Our connection app started with dating and will shortly include friendship connection. We were hosting regular in-person events that combined great music and dancing with conscious connecting; now we have brought it online and host regular virtual connection and community-building events.

The Kindra Dating App is available for both iPhone and Android.
