Join this inter­disici­pli­nary, inter­sec­tion­al group of con­sent and safe­ty pro­fes­sion­als as they dis­cuss the ingre­di­ents need­ed to sup­port a sex­u­al eth­ic in the bass music community.

The event will start with an overview by the pan­elists, and then we will invite you to select a top­ic-dri­ven break­out room to chat about next steps in pre­ven­tion, inter­ven­tion, and support.

*Cost*

We are ask­ing for a slid­ing scale sug­gest­ed dona­tion of $5 — $15 to be split among the team. POC and sur­vivors are invit­ed to join the con­ver­sa­tion for free.

Mohawk Greene, NY
Mohawk (they/them) orga­nizes and over­sees harm reduc­tion, health & safe­ty out­reach in fes­ti­val and nightlife set­tings, give lec­tures, col­lab­o­rate with drug reform agen­cies such as Drug Pol­i­cy Alliance, and, through their page Mohawk­TheE­d­u­ca­tor on social media, spread aware­ness on top­ics relat­ed to harm reduc­tion and drug policy. 

Rae Elka­sa­bany, DC
Rae Elka­sa­bany (she/her) is the Chap­ter Head of DC Dance­Safe, a non­prof­it pro­mot­ing health and safe­ty in the nightlife com­mu­ni­ty through pop­u­lar peer-based drug edu­ca­tion. As an avid harm reduc­tion­ist who spe­cial­izes in drug pol­i­cy reform, she is pas­sion­ate about effec­tive­ly edu­cat­ing peo­ple about drug safe­ty, admin­is­ter­ing acces­si­ble harm reduc­tion ser­vices, as well as racial and social jus­tice reform. As a com­mu­ni­ty orga­niz­er, she works close­ly with event pro­mot­ers and activist orga­ni­za­tions to pro­vide safe spaces for dia­logue about con­tro­ver­sial top­ics such as drug use. Rae has spo­ken at numer­ous con­fer­ences and events that revolve around harm reduc­tion, drug edu­ca­tion, and social and racial justice.

Emma Kay­win, NY
Emma Kay­win (she/they) is a sex­u­al health edu­ca­tor, writer, and activist based in Brook­lyn, NY. She devel­ops trau­ma-informed poli­cies and pro­ce­dures and deliv­ers tai­lored train­ings on top­ics of con­sent, trau­ma, and sex­u­al­i­ty. Emma holds a MA in Health Edu­ca­tion from Teach­ers Col­lege, Colum­bia Uni­ver­si­ty and a Cer­tifi­cate in Con­flict Res­o­lu­tion from the Teach­ers Col­lege Mor­ton Deutsch Inter­na­tion­al Cen­ter for Coop­er­a­tion and Con­flict Res­o­lu­tion. She is work­ing towards an EdD in Health Edu­ca­tion at Teach­ers Col­lege, where she is research­ing queer and gen­der-diverse nightlife patrons’ expe­ri­ences of sex­u­al mis­con­duct and safety.
