What: Car Car­a­van and Social­ly Dis­tanced March for Jus­tice for George Floyd and all Black peo­ple killed by police violence

Time: 12pm-2pm

Where: Con­vene cars and peo­ple on foot at Broad St. and Spring Gar­den St at 12pm. Car car­a­van and march to Cham­ber of Com­merce at 200 S. Broad St.

This action is orga­nized by UNITE HERE Locals 274, 634 and 54. We are the hos­pi­tal­i­ty, food ser­vice and casi­no work­ers unions in the Philadel­phia area. We stand in sol­i­dar­i­ty with the protests against police vio­lence tak­ing place through­out the Unit­ed States over the last week.

As a Union, we fight for free­dom and jus­tice for Black, Brown and white work­ers every day. We want equal jus­tice for Black and Brown and we know we do not have equal jus­tice today.

As we con­tin­ue to strug­gle for eco­nom­ic equal­i­ty for Black peo­ple, we also join the strug­gle against police vio­lence against Black people. 

Join us on Thurs­day at 12pm as we car car­a­van and march down Broad St., end­ing at the Cham­ber of Com­merce at 200 S. Broad St. 

Please be mind­ful that our mem­ber­ship is major­i­ty Black and Brown and on aver­age, old­er than many who have been on the streets in the last few days. As a group we are at high­er risk of com­pli­ca­tions from COVID-19. For this rea­son, we will be care­ful­ly spac­ing par­tic­i­pants 6 feet apart and also mak­ing it pos­si­ble to join by car. We ask every­one to wear a mask as well.
